Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**[DLys6]-LHRH + curcumin** is a rationally designed combination drug in which a synthetic luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) analog, [DLys6]-LHRH, is chemically conjugated to curcumin. The purpose is to enhance targeted delivery and cytotoxic potency of curcumin to cancer cells that overexpress LHRH receptors. [DLys6]-LHRH serves as a homing peptide, binding to LHRH receptors often upregulated in various cancer cell lines, thereby facilitating receptor-mediated uptake. Curcumin is a natural polyphenolic compound with documented anti-cancer and apoptotic properties. This conjugate has shown efficacy in preclinical studies by inhibiting proliferation and inducing apoptosis of LHRH receptor-positive pancreatic cancer cells, likely through enhanced receptor-mediated internalization and intracellular pro-apoptotic signaling.
